Calorie counting doesn't necessarily equal healthy and from a previous fat girl, who has been on many calories in, calorie out diets, it can mess with your health in many ways. Why? Well first, having a certain number of calories to eat in a day doesn’t tell you the types of foods that will make you healthy. You could eat a diet of only chocolate bars as long as you don’t go over the daily allocated calories. Will you lose weight? More than likely. Will, you be exhausted and depressed? Almost definitely. Will you feel healthy and the best you’ve ever felt in your life? Not a chance. Counting and measuring food is also time-consuming, which puts you in danger of quitting the diet long before you lose the weight.
So what’s the best way to get healthy, lose weight and keep it off? Hormones actually play a large role in influencing appetite, fullness, and fat storage. Research suggests that low-carb meals may trigger hormones that lead to a natural reduction in calorie intake, especially in those who are overweight or have insulin resistance. Insulin resistance can also influence whether you store or burn calories. Researchers have also found that decreasing your carb intake will help you lose weight faster than a calorie in calorie out diet, and may reverse insulin resistance, this great news for people who are pre-diabetic or type 2 diabetic.
Are you following a low-carb diet like Keto and still struggling to lose weight? Make sure you eating high-quality proteins, healthy fats, and lots of vegetables. Be aware of the high-calorie, high-reward foods that are easy to overindulge in, even if they are considered low carb. Classic example butter, cream cheese, hard cheese, processed protein bars as well as nuts.
When following our program, you will not count calories, instead, you will eat lots of food to fuel your body, mind, and metabolism. As this will feel so much more like a lifelong change versus a hard-core diet we promise you will never feel hungry. The food will also trigger your fat-burning hormones quickly and soon you will be releasing the excess weight you are carrying. We will also work with you so you don't regain the weight through a balanced 80:20 approach that will last you a lifetime!
Along with our program comes a ton of education.
Education = Power! It's like the old proverb: 'Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish, and you feed him for his life'.
Take Away - Calorie counting does not equal health and we do not advocate for any weight loss method that doesn't make you a healthier person than you were when you started. Counting calories seems to be the wrong tool when you are looking for something successful to aid in weight loss.
